Clayton began his career as a professional pilot with the goal of flying for the major airlines. At that time, the airlines were furloughing pilots, rather than hiring them, so he headed back to college and obtained his degree in Accounting from Central Washington University. After becoming a CPA and working in public accounting for a few years, he moved to the private sector and worked in the corporate aviation and real estate industry as Chief Financial Officer for 15 years. In 2003, Clayton returned to public accounting and by 2014 became the sole shareholder of a CPA firm in Encinitas, California. It was during this time that the business relationship with Jason Labrum was developed, resulting in today’s formation of IDA Tax.
Clayton spends much of his free time on the golf course and enjoying hiking and bicycling.
Jackie has worked in Accounting Services for eight years. She began her career with the public accounting firm RSM US, LLP, in tax preparation and continued to progress by developing a skillset in accounting services unique to the needs and challenges of small businesses and individuals. Prior to joining Clayton Willits’ CPA tax practice, she worked in Accounting Management, where she gained extensive experience in operational accounting, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and QuickBooks advisory. She is excited to be aligning with IDA to offer clients a wider range of professional financial services.
Jackie graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Finance and an MS in Accountancy. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor.
During her free time, Jackie is a passionate feline foster mom and fitness advocate, dabbling in sports such as aerial arts, bodybuilding, and short distance trail running.
Prior to working with Clay in his CPA practice, Joy spent over 20 years in the field of dentistry. She managed a busy dental practice that specialized in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.
After leaving dentistry, she joined Clay to help him manage his business where she’s been for five years.
When she’s not on duty with the practice, she can be found on the golf course or spending time with her two really, really awesome grandsons.
